Rationale for choosing this theme
We live in a world that is indeed dominated by computer games, laptops and media. As a result of this, many children grow up with little interest in the simplistic methods of our ancestors; something which I believe important to holistic learning and development. To get down to basics, to get one's hands dirty and to do this in a very active way would be fun, if nothing else. My main aim was to afford the children in my class knowledge of the Stone Age. On a deeper level, I wished to immerse the children into a world of Stone, to an environment where the children could imagine and learn what faced our ancestors on a daily basis.
